Job Description

An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen for an experienced and suitable qualified Supply Chain Team Leader within a well-known manufacturing company in Durban.  This is a 6 month fixed term contract.                                                    


Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Compiles Stock Reports daily                                                                                                      
  • Ensure Call off stocks are dispatched on time      
  • Preparation of quotations for customers
  • Regular customer liaison and negotiation
  • Ensure the processing and control of orders are accurate and on time
  • Order pipeline management with suppliers                                                         
  • Action sales to invoicing on SAP                                                                                                
  • Update Purchase Order and RFQ spreadsheet for tracking purposes                                                         
  • Communicate the ETA for customers to improve overall customer satisfaction                                    
  • Prepare monthly creditors reconciliations to ensure payment is made by Treasury            
  • Expedite material correction data sheets between customer and supplier                                             
  • Complete Bi-weekly reports                       
  • Attending to customer queries timeously
  • Submission of SARS statutory calculations to customers (APDP, EU Declarations, etc).
  • Stock control (to ensure stable stock days, stock ageing is kept within budget and ensure no stock loss/dead stock
  • Conduct monthly stock takes     
  • Mentor and lead Junior Staff members


  • Minimum Requirements
  • Grade 12
  • Supply Chain Degree is essential
  • 2 – 3 years’ experience in a similar position
  • Incoterms & Forex          
  • Must have led a small team or mentored graduates
  • Strong accountability and planning skills
