Sales Consultant - Pharma (Freestate)

A well known pharmaceutical company is looking for a dynamic Sales Consultant to join their team

Job Purpose:

Candidate must be able to effectively communicate technical knowledge of the company’s product range in order to influence the habits of the targeted healthcare professionals in the assigned territory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be capable of engaging in a detailing session with all parties (Scripting/Dispensing Doctors and Pharmacists)
  • Be capable of initiating a ‘switch’ strategy at pharmacy level, due to generic market
  • Ensure day-to-day flow of information of competitor activities and general company transactions via technology based tools supplied by the company
  • To grow and develop new business thereby building up a solid customer base
  • Manage the territory to achieve service level requirements in a cost efficient manner
  • Maintaining monthly business expenditure within budget
  • Be present at regional team meetings, cycle meetings and conferences
  • Ability to build relationships with pharmacy staff including pharmacists and pharmacy buyers
  • Achieve 100% of set monthly/quarterly and annual sales targets
  • Provide daily reports/feedback whenever required
  • Organizing pharmacy training events such as formal pharmacy training sessions
  • Exposure may be given to a Sales Consultants whereby the management of a Wholesaler will be facilitated
  • To assist where and when required, in promoting the company’s products through organised exhibitions and meetings to demonstrate the benefits of the various products
  • Submission of call planner on a weekly basis to the direct line manager & adhere to coverage and frequency expectations set out by direct line management
  • Submission of monthly territory feedback report to direct line manager

The successful candidate should ideally have the following:

  • Strong direct sales experience
  • Scripting doctor/dispensing doctor/retailing pharmacy and independent pharmacy experience is essential
  • Wholesaler interaction and dealings is an advantage
  • Management and exposure to Corporate clients is essential
  • Good track record of consistent performance in terms of meeting and exceeding targets
  • Scheduled pharmaceutical product experience is essential (preferably not OTC experience), with more relationship based direct selling
  • Anti-infective, CNS, CVS, Respiratory, Anti-Diabetic, Anti-inflammatory
