Job Description

An opportunity has become available for a suitably qualified and experienced Financial Manager preferably with CIMA.  The position is based in Richards Bay.

 

Purpose of the role

Producing financial records, reporting and forecasting for a Group of Companies

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reporting with accompanying analysis and comments
  • Ensure the accuracy and follow up all reporting
  • Supervise payroll, PAYE matters, IR returns, VAT return and Corporation Tax return
  • Manage, motivate and train the finance team
  • Oversee the external audit
  • Analyse investment in strategic initiatives; Communicate with the bankers, advisors, shareholders and all third parties on financial aspects
  •  Oversee the insurance program and ensure appropriate coverage is maintained at all times (notably export risk)
  • Support commercial teams on financial matters, notably tax and bank guarantee during the bidding process
  • Oversee the implementation and operation of the Group Directives and Guidelines, and ensure that
  • the Company meets its legal responsibilities;
  •  Following up on all orders (Sales Price and Gross Margin) from booking to completion: ensuring the Gross Margin at booking is correctly calculated and following up on it until the 100 % completion of the project;
  • Follow up on the inventories of the warehouse and ensuring the correctness of stock and reconciliation of thereof
  • Manage the systems surrounding all aspects of the organisation’s budgets, forecasts and business planning
  •  Developing and maintaining programme and project reporting and management systems as required;
  • Preparing and analysing cash flow statements, income and expenditure accounts and balance sheet accounts
  •  Ensuring the correct revenue is recognised and that the correct costs are classified and followed up on (include accruals balance %)
  • Undertake company secretary responsibilities and ensure the company’s compliance with relevant legal and governance requirement
  • Corporate Law matters: status, deregistration
  •  BEE transformation: responsible for the BEE (main contact of PWC for the transformation and then follow up/ management of FSM on a financial and administrative perspective);
  • Promote and ensure compliance with the organisation’s policies, including Health & Safety, Environmental and Diversity Policies;
 

Minimum Requirements
  • Financial Accounting Degree (BCom, BSc, BA or MBA)
  • CIMA or studying towards
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA)
  • Strong organisational skills to ensure timelines are met Auditing background preferred
  • 6 years proven work experience as a Financial Manager
  • 2 + years cost analysis / variance reporting experience in analysis of projects/manufacturing costs Involvement in overall business strategy
  • SAP experience would be an advantage
